Introduction

The University of British Columbia (UBC) Four Year Doctoral Fellowship (4YF) provides financial support to outstanding doctoral students pursuing full-time PhD, Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA), or MDPhD studies. The fellowship is designed to provide stable financial support throughout eligible doctoral education and research.

The program is available to both domestic and international students, primarily supporting students entering the first year of their doctoral program while also allowing continuing students to be considered in certain circumstances.

About the UBC Four Year Doctoral Fellowship

The University of British Columbia Four Year Doctoral Fellowship supports outstanding doctoral students undertaking full-time PhD, Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA), or MDPhD studies. The fellowship is available to both domestic and international students and primarily supports students beginning the first year of their doctoral program.

Successful fellows receive tuition support and a living stipend of at least CAD $18,200 per year. Funding can continue for up to four years, provided the student remains eligible and maintains satisfactory academic progress throughout the funding period.
