About the Scholarship
Oklahoma State University is offering a funded graduate research opportunity through the Department of Natural Resource Ecology & Management (NREM) for international students pursuing a Master’s degree. The research assistantship focuses on bird-window collisions and their effects on wildlife.
The selected student will conduct fieldwork and data analysis involving bird collisions on the Oklahoma State University campus. Research may examine approaches to reduce collisions, factors such as lighting, weather, and surrounding landscapes, or broader research questions using existing bird-collision and occurrence databases. Students may also gain research and potentially teaching experience while receiving financial support.
Scholarship Benefits
- Annual stipend of $25,000, equivalent to approximately $2,083 per month.
- Full tuition waiver.
- Health insurance at a cost of $20 per month.
- Research assistantship funding available through May 2029.
- Opportunity to serve as a teaching assistant and gain teaching experience.

Eligibility Criteria
- Hold an undergraduate degree in Natural Resource Management, Wildlife Ecology or Management, Ecology, or a related field.
- Demonstrate strong motivation and a good work ethic.
- Be able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Show an interest in urban ecology, conservation biology, and/or wildlife conservation.
- Have experience interacting with the public and different stakeholder groups.
- Research experience, field-project coordination, wildlife collision surveys, bird handling or identification, and statistical analysis are preferred.
- Experience with public outreach, educational presentations, or stakeholder engagement is also preferred.
