Introduction

The United Nations Youth Townhall 2026 is a fully funded international youth program bringing more than 1,000 young people together in Heidelberg, Germany, from December 8–10, 2026. The program provides a platform for young people to connect with governments, UN representatives, civil society, the private sector, and other stakeholders.

About the Scholarship

The United Nations Youth Townhall 2026 is organized by the United Nations Youth Office in collaboration with partners to create meaningful opportunities for young people to exchange experiences and engage with key stakeholders. The event is intended for young people involved in youth-led initiatives, organizations, movements, projects, or advocacy activities at local, national, regional, or global levels.

Participants will be able to build networks, contribute to discussions, exchange ideas, and develop collaborations around issues affecting young people and sustainable development. Selected participants will receive financial support covering eligible travel and participation-related expenses, together with preparatory information and an invitation letter to assist with visa procedures.

Scholarship Benefits

  • Daily subsistence allowance according to applicable UN rates.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be between 18 and 35 years old at the time of the event.
  • Be actively engaged in grassroots, local, national, regional, or global youth-led initiatives, projects, groups, movements, or organizations.
  • Be comfortable communicating and participating in English.
  • Be available to participate throughout the Youth Townhall from December 8–10, 2026.
  • Be willing to participate in preparatory meetings and activities before the event.
  • Be prepared to contribute to follow-up activities at the local or national level after the event.
  • Selection will consider motivation to participate, experience with grassroots organizations or volunteer activities, youth leadership, youth-led advocacy, intergenerational collaboration, geographical representation, gender balance, and participation from underrepresented or marginalized groups.
