The FAO Young Professionals Program (YPP) 2026 provides a career opportunity for talented young professionals from developing and underrepresented countries to begin a career with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
Selected participants receive a two-year fixed-term appointment and gain professional experience while working alongside international and national staff on FAO activities.

About the Program
The FAO Young Professionals Program is designed to provide talented young professionals with an opportunity to start an international civil service career with FAO. Participants contribute to the organisation's activities while developing professional skills in an international working environment.
Successful participants receive a two-year fixed-term appointment and work with international and national FAO staff. The program includes positions in areas such as food loss and waste, aquatic value chains, economics, communication, finance, climate change, and natural resources management.
Program Benefits

Eligibility Criteria
- Be 32 years old or younger as of December 31, 2026.
- Hold an advanced university degree such as a Master's, PhD, or equivalent relevant to FAO's work.
- Have at least one year of relevant professional experience.
- Have working knowledge of English.
- Have limited knowledge of another FAO official language: French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, or Russian.
- Not be the son, daughter, brother, or sister of an FAO staff member.
