About the Scholarship
The 2027 APU Rotary Yoneyama Scholarship supports international students who are residing outside Japan and plan to pursue an eligible graduate degree at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University. The opportunity is available to applicants entering eligible master's or doctoral programmes.
Selected scholars receive a monthly stipend throughout the scholarship period, together with reimbursement for eligible economy-class travel expenses when arriving in Japan. Applicants must apply separately to APU and the Rotary Yoneyama scholarship organization and satisfy the requirements of both application processes.
Scholarship Benefits
- Master’s students receive ¥140,000 per month for up to two years.
- Doctoral students receive ¥140,000 per month for up to two years.
- Economy-class air travel and other eligible travel expenses are reimbursed up to ¥250,000 after arrival in Japan.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must not hold Japanese nationality, including dual nationality.
- Must obtain a student visa for study in Japan.
- Must be residing outside Japan until the beginning of the programme.
- Must not have lived in Japan for more than 31 days in total, subject to the stated exceptions.
- Must have Japanese-language proficiency equivalent to JLPT N4 or higher.
- Must have been born after April 2, 1982.
- Must be scheduled to enroll in a graduate programme at APU.
